My go to accommodation in Reading area. Lesley and Paul are really friendly, helpful and accommodating. Great value and only 15 mins drive from Reading. Stayed a day or so last week, and back again this week, while working nearby. Lesley and her husband are very friendly, responsive, welcoming and helpful. Great rooms, great value, and free parking is another bonus.
Amazing hosts, we had an incredibly pleasant stay, they are so friendly and caring, helpful in everything they can do. Breakfasts were amazing, they were able to come up even with vegan options, when asked. 10/10, I would recommend a stay here to everyone!
I have stayed in many guesthouses and hotels due to travelling around the UK for work, and May Fields is comfortably the nicest one I have stayed at. The rooms are immaculate, modern and comfortable. The breakfast is lovely and the house is in a great location. The owners are lovely people and make you feel welcome, they couldn't be more accommodating. The place is a home away from home.
I stayed at the Mayfields Guest House in July 2012 for three nights. The room was scrupulously clean, as was the shower room. Not too big, but exceptional value for money. The room was well served for tea, coffee and biscuits, and the shower room with the kind of soaps and shower gels you would have at home . Paul & Lesley were terrific hosts. Wonderfully friendly, always anxious to make sure everything was OK. I opted not to have the breakfast as they thoughtfully quoted rates with and without breakfast. I would not hesitate to recommend this guest house wholeheartedly ahead of any number of local hotels to anyone wanting to stay in the Reading area.
Spotlessly clean, very modern looking guest house. The breakfast was delicious! Paul and Lesley were very welcoming and work hard to keep their guests happy. The only downside was the authentic squeeky bedroom door, though I know they would have sorted it if I'd remembered to tell them!
Paul and Lesley provide a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for guests. Location is good, 10 minutes walk from Winnersh Station and it's always easy to book. Our visiting family always have such a great time. Cannot recommend enough, well worth a visit!
I have been staying at Mayfields Guest House for 2 nights a week for a few months now. The owners, Lesley and Paul are very welcoming and can't do enough for you, The bedrooms are clean and tidy, the dining area is clean, tidy and a nice environment. I highly recommend Mayfields, I can't fault the place or the service. I don't always have a breakfast, but I have had one and it was very nice. The location is good for me and my work but also within walking distance of a pub and spa. There is off road parking.
We recently stayed at the Mayfields Guest House and are so pleased that we chose to stop there for the few nights we were visiting the area. We found the room very well presented and well stocked with tea and coffee etc. I personally found the bed very comfortable even being 6ft 4. Paul & Lesley were great hosts throughout and nothing was too much trouble for them to assist us with. The breakfast was ample and certainly not rushed. We would recommend this guest house to anyone wanting a quiet comfortable stay.
